Liturgical Ministries

Orban

  • This ministry is the baking of the Eucharistic bread for service and usually is done either the night before or early in the morning before liturgy

Elementary Hymns and Middle School Hymns

  • An opportunity to learn the hymns of the church for both girls and boys. This class is typically held on Saturdays at 5:30pm

Adult/High School Hymns

  • A class for High School and Adults to learn the hymns of the church. This class is typically held on Fridays at 6:45pm

Diaconate

  • Serve as a chanter, reader, or subdeacon during vespers and liturgy

Educational Ministries

Sunday School (3yr-to High School)

  • Weekly class for children of all ages immediately following Sunday Divine Liturgy

Servant’s Prep Class

  • Weekly class to prepare those who are interested in teaching Sunday School

Catechism Class

  • This is a 8 week course designed for people who are interested in learning about the faith in order to be baptized

Outreach Ministries

Welcome Ministry

  • Help people get plugged in to the St. Verena community! Sign them up for the email list, Whatsapp groups, familiarize them with the schedule, and just overall make them feel at home

Website/Social Media

  • Help manage and maintain the website and social media pages of the church

Room in the Inn/Homeless Ministry

  • Help in our various homeless ministries! Make food for the homeless, prepare their beds, get them rides, even spend the night at church with them

Evangelism Committee

  • Have a zeal for telling others about Orthodoxy? Join the evangelism committee for their various activities in spreading Orthodoxy

Coptic Converts Converse

  • A biweekly meeting for those who have been baptized recently and want to continue learning about the church and integrating themselves within the community

Pastoral Ministries

Patristics Book Club Meeting

  • A meeting in which we read and discuss together portions of the the writings of the church fathers. Meets Wednesdays at 5:30pm

Women’s Meeting

  • Biweekly meeting on Fridays at 6:45pm for women to gather and discuss various spiritual topics

Young Adults Meeting

  • A spiritual meeting Sundays after Liturgy for college students and young professionals

Hospitality Ministries

Kitchen Ministry

  • Serving in the kitchen Sundays after Liturgy to make sure there’s plenty of coffee and clean places for people to relax after service

Maintenance Ministry

  • Are you handy or just like to see your church in tip-top shape? This ministry serves to make minor repairs within the church as well as contact professionals to assist when necessary

Event Planning Ministry

  • If you are good at planning large get togethers this ministry would be for you. This group plans our annual Nativity and Resurrection feast as well as other various church festivities throughout the year
