St. Verena American Coptic Orthodox Church, Nashville, Tennessee
Our Mission
to live and share the treasure of the Orthodox Christian faith within the community in which we live
Our History
The Coptic Orthodox Church is one of the most ancient churches in the world. It was established in the first century in Egypt by St. Mark the Evangelist, author of the Gospel that bears his name. It has maintained its Orthodox Christian faith, passing traditions down through generations while preserving apostolic doctrine and patterns of worship.
The Coptic Orthodox Church is rich in her evangelistic and ascetic life, her heavenly worship, her spiritual rituals, her living hymns, her beautiful icons, and her Holy Sacraments. She attracts the heart towards heaven without ignoring daily life.
